This year the whole school will be using a new behavior strategy called PBIS. PBIS stands for positive behavior interventions and supports.
-
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior.
-
With PBIS, kids learn about behavior, just as they learn other subjects like math or science.
-
The key to PBIS is prevention, not punishment.
-
PBIS is an approach that schools can use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior.
Listed below are a few sites that explain PBIS:

One of the techniques we will be using in our classroom this year is Whole Body Listening. We will begin learning and using whole body listening the first day of school and will use it through out the school year. Whole Body Listening teaches the students how to be a good listener. It teaches them expectations for being a good listener.
